As its name implies, Intermodal Structures designs, manufactures and delivers single and multi-story, steel frame buildings (intermodally) to customers located anywhere in the world. The buildings are earthquake and hurricane/typhoon proof and their moment frame design enables 40 feet of clear span without requiring any columns or structural walls. Their long life, expandability (both horizontally and vertically), adaptability to different uses over time and relocatability future proofs our buildings.

High Performance Classrooms

    Captured here is an IMS two-story classroom building assembled within the Sacramento Convention Center for the 37th annual CASH Convention, the largest trade show for California School Districts.  The building was assembled and outfitted in just three days and, after the convention, completely disassembled and relocated (for the fifth time in five years) in under one day.

January 4, 2017 Update: After the CASH Convention, we relocated the building to Santa Fe Springs, California.  Here is a video of it being reassembled in just 150 minutes.  

This video captures the construction of an IMS High Performance classroom for Institut Montfort, a school in Santo, Haiti for 300 children who are deaf and deaf/blind.
